    New Residence and Pool House

    LOCATION: Palo Alto, CA
    AREA: 5752 SQ-FT House, 560 SQ-FT Pool House
    COMPLETED: August 2009

The clients wanted a new home, but they didn’t want it to look that way. They desired a home that could have been built when their town was first incorporated. They were drawn to the looks of the older local Queen Anne, Victorian and Shingle Style homes. Like other homes of the area, we didn’t stick strictly to one historic style, but the design is primarily of the Shingle Style. Starting with a more symmetrical core, the roof lines have variation and complexity, including a portion of the second story roof extending down to create a large front porch, a dominate shingle style feature.
